The jury of professionals from the fashion and footwear industry, including Walter van Beirendonck, Liesel Swarts and Paul Termeer, Hornof chose for it’s innovative and fresh design. Hornof processed the red heel from the time of Louis XIV. The Sun King was wearing a shoe with a red heel, a privilege of the elite. At that time, a red heel was a symbol symbol of wealth, exclusivity and power.

Hornof: ‘The Sacha Shoe Award allowed me to win my shoe concept into production to see, and therefore they are able to use during my graduation show. In this way, my design discovered by a wider audience.’
