Irma Bruggeman used to decorate telephones, when these phones were to be replaced by mobil phones shoe was looking fror a new object. She started to decorate Dutch wooden clogs. ‘Our cultural inheritage that was disappering in the fashion scene. I took the challenge getting it back in the picture.’
Softwoodenshoes was initiated after a discussion with ‘Klompen Frans’, a wooden toy supplier. He noticed that the traditional wooden clogs were disappearing from the market. People stopt buying the clogs. The Softwoodenshoe has a soft instep, which makes wearing them very comfortable and painless.

The Softwoodenshoes are permanently shown in the ‘Clog museum ‘t Oale Ambacht’ in Goor, The Netherlands.
