Pop-up shoe Z

Laura Papp

Pop-up shoes, 2013.

The inspiration was the pop-up paper craft. I wanted to make shoes that are completely flat and they only adjust to the shape of the feet by wearing them. The footwear was made by using special patterns. I cut into the shoe sole in different places and shapes and this gave the final form and character to the shoe.

The first was the s-shape cut, the second was the x and the last one was the z-shape cut. The chosen cut type determine how the shoes will encompass the feet.
For the sole of the shoes I kept the geometric character and I made sure that the shoe fits perfectly to the shape of the foot. The works were made of leather.
