Porcelain shoes

Laura Papp

Experimental Bachelor degree project, 2013.

The inspiration comes from (drip)stone surfaces and the family of Antoni Gaudi Sagrada. My goal was that the rustic feature would show up in the heels. I imagined it in white, because it shows up the plastics best. The right material was the porcelain as it is able to imitate any fine surface and one of the strongest materials.
The shoes could hold more than 160 kg, but the platform is not heavy (only 1 kg). Three pairs of shoes were made from different surgery and vamps.
The vamp is made of leather which makes the contrast with the platform. The homogeny and the rustic reinforce each other. The sole of the shoes is made of rubber.
