Distortion

Marloes ten Bhömer

For this project, I looked into the aesthetics and way of destroying, denting, cutting things, in order to come to new (silhouette) forms. The boot is a slip on boot and the front of the boot is distorted. Normally a slip on boot is very straight at the back so your foot can slide into the boot. The way I have cut the pattern makes it possible to make the back hug the calf and the leg. At the moment I am looking into the way of producing this material, tyvek, in a three-dimensional mould, so stitches will not be necessary anymore.
