Moksha

Sahil Lungani

Graduation collection, Polimoda, 2013

My hand-made collection Moksha (liberation) is inspired by Lord Shiva and his cosmic role: Dissolution and Re-creation. The creation sustains itself by a delicate balance between the opposing forces of good and evil. When the balance is disturbed and sustenance of life becomes impossible, Lord Shiva dissolves the universe for the creation of the next cycle so that the un-liberated souls will have another opportunity to liberate themselves from the bondage of the physical world.

Inspired by Shiva and his cosmic role. Shiva is regarded as one of the primary forms of God, such as one of the five primary forms of God in the Smarta tradition, among the Trimurti, the Hindu Trinity of the primary aspects of the divine. Shiva is also regarded as the patron god of yoga and arts.

Material: wood and leather.
