Shoe exhibition – Shoes Selection #10

Overview of the past 10 years of shoe design students work from SASK, the Academy of Fine Arts in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium. On show from 6.2.2015 till 30.4.2015. This shoe design course, led by Anne Poesen and Patrick Creemers, has manifested itself for many years as a professional and inspiring department looking far beyond the borders of Sint-Niklaas.

What makes this program so special is that it is part-time education. Students who work or study during the day choose not to follow every week ten hours of intensive classes during evenings and weekends. Motivation is their motive, for some people the childhood that they can finally realize. It requires a great effort and just who is passionate takes the finish line. Because the program sets the bar high academic high. Focus is on the design, structure, craft, form study, graphics and analysis of historical and ethnic shoes.

Personal vision and authenticity are encouraged from the first year. That it is a highly professional training with an equally passionate teaching team prove exhibitions where students participate, jobs in the footwear sector and the prices have already achieved several students.
From anyone can sign up to the age of eighteen.

The show is the culmination of an academic year and gives students a platform from the first year to show their vision and creativity. That come to see 1200 people every year and not just family and insiders, is the best form of appreciation for this department and its students. That climax is celebrated this year on May 28, 2016 in ‘t Bauhuis Sint Niklaas.

The exhibition shows a selection of some 90 designs by students of the past 10 years. In addition, pictures of some shoots are shown with designs from students, as well as the film of the year-end show in 2015.
