If Men Could Dance

Sebastian De Line

‘If Men Could Dance’ was a collaboration with Pascale Gatzen, Dutch fashion designer and former teacher at the Fashion Institute in Arnhem. They were created by us during an exhibition at ‘de Appel’ in 2006, entitled ‘If I Can’t Dance, I Don’t Want to be Part of Your Revolution’. They’re is no internal shank, so they are completely flexible and light. It’s a response to how patriarchy is rigid and systematic, ideas of masculinity are also inflexible and heavy.
