Part of the Dowry Trunk ‘Wedding Shoes’ collection, a journey to the past, hopes and memories, 2003-2004.

This shoe collection tells stories and reflects memories of a girl’s engagement or wedding state. The stamp in the shoe is the mark or the name of the shoe master.

The inspiration for my collection comes from my aunt’s wedding shoes which she used to keep since I was a child. In the old days the masters made personal shoes for these occasions and wrote their signatures of course. Besides a wedding shoe for each woman is symbolic and full with hopes and rich memories…
