Third year assignment 2013, choose an ethnical shoe and create a replica, then design a collection of 4 pairs of shoes, for the Academy of Fine Arts in Sint-Niklaas Belgium (SASK).

Part of the collection ‘Woodhide Geometries’, laser cut wood on leather, 2013.

I chose this theme because of my interest in architectural trends such as Art Deco and my love for the Scandinavian interior design.

This open shoe consists of 1 piece (by following the geometrical pattern) that extends from the outside to the inside. The V-shaped outside and bare inside makes this pair very elegant. Mimosa yellow is combined with bamboo and a small detail of waternymph-green in the heel.
