When winter comes our world gets covered with snow, including the places where birds use to find their food. Birds prepare for wintertime and need enough energy to make it through the cold days with less food as usual. To help them survive some people hang out peanuts or seed balls, enjoying frequent visits of little sparrows.
These shoes are covered with delicious bird seeds. Wear these shoes when going for a break or reading a book and you will soon have little friends flying over for a small bite. Your healthy break becomes a bird’s healthy meal – double fun.
The ‘For the Birds’ shoes helps us getting through the winter by bringing man and nature a little bit closer.
The ‘For the Birds’ shoes are designed by Arnold van Bezooyen for an intercultural exhibition where traditional Korean shoes were conceptually redesigned by European designers to create a new look and meaning. Arnold’s passion for materials made him explore the materiality of the shoe instead of its form.

[description] => Softwoodenshoes Irma Bruggeman used to decorate telephones, when these phones were to be replaced by mobil phones shoe was looking fror a new object. She started to decorate Dutch wooden clogs. ‘Our cultural inheritage that was disappering in the fashion scene. I took the challenge getting it back in the picture.’Softwoodenshoes is ontstaan after a discussion with Klompen Frans, a wooden toy supplier. He noticed that the traditional wooden clogs were dissapering from the market. People stopt buying the clogs. The softwoodenshoe has a soft instep, what makes wearing them very comfortable and painless.
The Softwoodenshoes are permanently shown in the 'Klompenmuseum 't Oale Ambacht' in Goor, The Netherlands.

[description] => ZABOT combines the look of Scandinavian wooden clogs and the shape of elegant and narrow cowgirl-boots with the objective to create sandals with pointed and closed toe-caps which are producing inimitable silhouettes. ZABOT combines the features of timeless shape, high-quality materials of wood and leather, trendy colours and extraordinary patterns.
Fascinatingly moulded and elaborate bootlegs, bevelled heels and anatomically welcoming footbeds of the feminine and elegantly curved soles stabilize the foot and make walking an extremely comfortable experience. ZABOT has made further developments to the collection 2006. A new design and an elastic wooden sole which is forked in the ball of the foot area and connected with natural rubber (caoutchouc) make ZABOT even more comfortable. ZABOT works with a technique patented by Wood-o-fl ex from Austria. The models ZABOTs Classic will stay available.
