[description] => Caution! You're almost barefoot! Shoes of subtle sensation from Aloi Sunti.
Inspiration arose by spending time on one of the world's most wonderful stretches of land, where natural beauty is enriched by countless cultural treasures. Along with a couple of friends I was dreaming of an endless summer and we shared a sense of freedom and wellbeing. This experience would have been enhanced, I thought, if I ripped off part of my shoe soles. However, images of elegant and exciting shoes allowing a woman to be almost barefoot soon appeared in my imagination. The product's development challenged last manufacturers as well as traditional metal processors or shoemakers. Each one of them had to think beyond what they knew. Several prototypes were made, a patent application was filed and valuable acquaintances of many ambitious partners were established. The resulting design was so surprising to people that many would not trust their eyes.
'Oh my god, shoes without any arch support!' some say, even before they realize that even the shoes they themselves wore actually do not provide any arch support. Our orthopedic shoemaker and co-developer can explain: 'With ready made shoes and, without customized inlays, there is always a hollow space remaining in the area of the arch of the foot, so that the arch will not be supported at all. Any attempt to provide a serialized inlay fails due to the vast variety of foot shapes. Such an 'average' inlay can even be detrimental to comfort. Therefore, the abandonment of a shoe
sole in the middle area will not create any negative implications.'
The concept for the design is based on the replacement of the steel shank, which is normally incorporated between the outer and inner soles and which gives highest rigidity to the middle sole and the heel. In the Aloi Sunti shoe the flexibility of the sole at the tip of the shoe works as usual but the steel shank has been replaced with a static connection running along the outer side of the foot. The foot is held firmly on it's outer side, but can spread on the other side due to the elasticity of the leather. In order to prevent unattractive welling out of the sole of the foot at the edge of the shoe's heel, it is inclined more than usual.
Thus the comfort of Aloi Sunti is unquestionable and my dream of allowing the air to kiss the soles of a lady's foot is fulfilled, and will give her her a sense of freedom and indulgence in the heat of the summer - or night.

Martin Margiela's basic ankle boot is based on a traditional Japanese workers boot, called Tabi. This are ankle high socks with a rubber sole have a separation between the big toe and other toes. They are worn by both men and women.
Based on these boots, this shoe design has a split toe, they fasten with small coper hooks and the woorden heel is covered with nails.

This sculpture is a part of a shoes series I'm currently working on where I revist some of my favorite classic sneaker silhouettes. This time around I took on the iconic jordan 1.
I used copper in a big way, influenced from a previous Jordan (Air Jordan 17 +) One of my favorite Jordan's of all time.
In Reference to the theme and name 'Colossus': I wanted to pay homage to the first computer that recent history tells us was the Colossus. The first electronic computer was developed by the British to crack the LORENZ codes used by the German high command during World War 2.

With this piece I again tried to create a complete piece with both box and shoe notice some of the details, shoes lock down inside of box for easy portability, I also tied this piece around a theme, 'Pentium' the name of Intel's chips. [description] => This shoe sculpure is part of a series of 20 sculptures of shoes dedicated to the most relevant women in history, literature, cinema and comics. This project has been commissioned by Superstudio Milan and ANCI, and chosen as opening event for the MICAM 2006.
Margot Mine (Lupin III)
Within the cartoons that accompanied my childhood there is Lupin III. The adventures of the thief gentleman inspired me for the sandal of Margot. Madly in love with her, Lupin tolerates her colossal betrayals, her escapes with the billionaire of the moment, the thefts she commits to her own gang, moreover planned to take revenge on Arsenic. However, all these ungrateful plans at the back of the poor loving end up in farce; Margot can’t make it on her own against the prince of thieves, sided by Daisuke Jigen and Goemon Ishikawa.
In a series of absolutely genial and impossible situations, the poor commissar Kouichi Zenigata is always beaten and mortified, but regardless the cartoon transmits a positive message for there is a rooted good feeling able to reconcile the band at the end of every episode, as in every quarrelsome but united family.
This sandal has handcuffs as sash, but I left one open for she always succeed to set herself free, with the help, obviously, of her friends. The heels are precious stone-studded and the vamp is a string of pearls for they are her passions, strong enough to make her betray anyone who gets between her and jewels, and to make her deal with anyone who promise her richness and why not? A resounding lesson to her eternal beloved/hated Lupin III.

In case you’re wondering... worn with head to toe black and a dash of red lipstick, very 'femme fatale'. These were one of Ashlee’s first pairs of Manolo's (and she has lots) 'On their first outing they immediately commanded attention. Within an hour of wearing them I had a man drooling over the shoes. As he asked me to join him for coffee, all the time staring at the shoes', he said, 'So, do you always wear shoes like that?'

This show featured paintings of 21 women in their favourite shoes, by artist and designer Kelly Sant. Kelly has painted the feet of some of the leading lights of the design and fashion worlds, each clad in their favourite shoes. From design curators, to stylists, to the muse of a 70s shoe designer, each has chosen the shoes that they feel best sum them up. Essentially these are portraits of feet, some defiant, some coy, some strident, some sexual: each painting richly conveys the essence and personality of their owner. Yet each portrait ends at calf level, tantalising the viewer with suggestions of what is not revealed.

[description] => For this project, I looked into the aesthetics and way of destroying, denting, cutting things, in order to come to new (silhouette) forms. The boot is a slip on boot and the front of the boot is distorted. Normally a slip on boot is very straight at the back so your foot can slide into the boot. The way I have cut the pattern makes it possible to make the back hug the calf and the leg. At the moment I am looking into the way of producing this material, tyvek, in a three-dimensional mould, so stitches will not be necessary anymore.

Meret Oppenheim (1913-1985) was an important surrealist Swiss painter and sculptor. In 1936 Oppenheim exhibited Ma Gouvernante made of a pair of shoes bound together on a platter in a position simulating that of a nude woman on her back with her legs spread and dressed with paper frills. The shoes caused as a lot of excitement. This pair of shoes was distroyed, but a new pair was made in 1967 when Moderna Museet made an Oppenheim show.
