They are a 'graft' between a stripper shoe and an all star converse. The clash between these two elements is extremely interesting: the defined design of the stripper shoe in opaque resin (which I've modified by cutting the heel and the front part) and the all star converse, dirty and worn out.

The combination of these two elements create an unique work: a sculpture-shoe to wear or to keep in a reliquary. Description and details
This sculpture is a part of a shoes series I'm currently working on where I revist some of my favorite classic sneaker silhouettes. This time around I took on the iconic jordan 1.
I used copper in a big way, influenced from a previous Jordan (Air Jordan 17 +) One of my favorite Jordan's of all time.

In Reference to the theme and name 'Colossus': I wanted to pay homage to the first computer that recent history tells us was the Colossus. The first electronic computer was developed by the British to crack the LORENZ codes used by the German high command during World War 2.

Key Features
· Extra pair of steal braided shoe laces.
· Copper midsole for extra durability.
· Premium Luggage unit for secure transportation and display.
· Shoes fasten into box for secure lockdown when transporting.
· Upper made from 70's era hard drive.
· Outer sole made from motherboards for increased durability and data transfer.

Description and Details
This sculpture is part of a shoes series I'm currently working where I revisit some of my favorite classic sneakers silhouettes. With this piece I again tried to create a complete piece with both box and shoe notice some of the details, shoes lock down inside of box for easy portability, I also tied this piece around a theme, 'Pentium' the name of Intel's chips. You will notice this repeated through out the shoes, and box. The campaign was inspired by the Tokyo cityscape, which is visually stunning and energetic perfect for Ontisuka Tiger. StrawberryFrog was looking for an idea rather than an individual ad campaign, something that would draw people in and excite them across all media touchpoints. The sculpture has inspired numerous executions from classic print and outdoor, to viral film and retail and even drove the design of new product.

The Electric Light Shoe takes center stage in a StrawberryFrog-produced 30-second animation that takes the viewer on a journey through the sneaker. The film opens in a contemporary Japanese bedroom and from there the viewer is whisked away on a magical journey through the sculpture bustling neon-lit streets, past traffic, metro trains, skyscrapers and cranes. It sweeps to a halt in front of the Electric Light Show leaving the viewer to watch from afar as the city in a sneaker goes about its business [keywords] => [thumbnail] => ElectricTigerLand-t.jpg [p_ids] => ) [thumbnail] => image Object ( [path] => files/ElectricTigerLand-t.jpg [directory] => files [filename] => ElectricTigerLand-t.jpg [path_original] => files/ElectricTigerLand-t.jpg [filename_original] => ElectricTigerLand-t.jpg [web_path] => files/ ) ) [8] => objekt Object ( [table] => object [primkey] => o_id [db] => db_mysql Object ( [host] => [user] => [pass] => [mysql_link] => Resource id #9 ) [fields] => Array ( [o_id] => 948 [status] => online [object_type] => sculpture [name] => Veggie sneaker Nike [year] => 2008 [brand] => [location] => [shoe_type] => sneaker [focus] => print [colour_backup] => [colour] => 6D7427 [material] => edible [usage] => [sex] => [style] => experimental,sport [description] => [keywords] => Nike, vegatables, [thumbnail] => PaulvanBarneveld_t1.jpg [p_ids] => ) [thumbnail] => image Object ( [path] => files/PaulvanBarneveld_t1.jpg [directory] => files [filename] => PaulvanBarneveld_t1.jpg [path_original] => files/PaulvanBarneveld_t1.jpg [filename_original] => PaulvanBarneveld_t1.jpg [web_path] => files/ ) ) [9] => objekt Object ( [table] => object [primkey] => o_id [db] => db_mysql Object ( [host] => [user] => [pass] => [mysql_link] => Resource id #9 ) [fields] => Array ( [o_id] => 1072 [status] => online [object_type] => shoe [name] => Nat-2 STACK 4 in 1 E.C.O. The first collection will have 8 styles in basic colours. They already give you the option to do up to 760 different colour/material/part combinations. The number will rise season by season.

Onitsuka Tiger

The astonishing Tiger story The history of Onitsuka Tiger began with the establishment of Onitsuka Co. Ltd. in 1949. Based on the philosophy of bringing up sound youth through sports, the company has maintained the tradition of specializing in the manufacturing of sports shoes using original ideas and applying epoch-making techniques. As the Japanese people recovered from the war and began to appreciate the benefits of sports, Onitsuka Tiger shoes were on their feet. The first basketball shoes in Japan had a tiger face design on the arch of the foot and this became Onitsuka's trademark. In the 1960's, Onitsuka Tiger sports shoes were worn not only by the Japanese, but also by top foreign athletes.

When men were men and a cuppa coffee cost a penny. And John Fluevog was a strapping young man with a glorious future. Here, you'll find artifacts of that future, now distant past. Or, passed. Whatever. These wonders have long vanished into the ether (meaning they're, like, totally unavailable, so don't even think it), but they live on, in our hearts. In fact, we know that many of your closets and attics hold rare treasures of Fluevog History. Whether they're shoes, accessories, old marketing materials or related items we didn't even make, it's all welcome. Send your photos and stories to info@fluevog.com and, if they fit the bill, you'll see 'em in the Flueseum!

Virtual Shoe Museum : Sneaker
Home of the Virtual Show Museum

Please read our Terms and conditions for using this website.

The Virtual Shoe Museum was initiated by Liza Snook in 2004. Once the idea was born, a long search began for designers, photographers and publishers connected to shoes. New friendships developed and our mailbox filled with loads of material on fantastic shoes, art and design on shoes.

And finally, with the help of Taco Zwaanswijk of Interactive Affairs, who designed the site, and Bart van der Ploeg of Resolume, who programmed the database and created the content management system, we're live! And proud! And we're only just beginning...

If you have any questions about the collection, or leads on shoes or designers, please let us know. Also, we're interested in your opinion on the collection and your experiences in the museum. You can contact the Virtual Shoe Museum by mail: Liza@VirtualShoeMuseum.com.

The Virtual Shoe Museum has different 'perspectives' on a shoe or object. These perspectives (designer, focus, colour, material, etc) show related objects and thus ways to navigate the collection.

The left column of the screen contains the main navigation. Each perspective contains several 'rooms'. Each room contains thumbnails of the objects it contains (on the right side of the screen). Choose any to view this object.

On an object's page, below the image, you can view more images, video and text (if available). Above the thumbnails, you find a list showing all the rooms this object belongs to. Here you can wander the rooms and find related objects.
