Craft The Leather exhibition at Lineapelle

Happy and honoured to be part of the jury again for Craft The Leather 2019. I was very fortunate to meet and join this group of talented designers at their workshop week in San Miniato, Italy last May.

Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium will be present at Lineapelle, the international exhibition of leathers, accessories, components and much more. An event that every year actracts operators from all over the world. Lineapelle will be held at Fiera Milano Rho from 19th to 21st February 2020. As every edition the associated tanneries will take part to the fair with their own stands presenting their new veg-tan leather collections. Consortium will have a stand, exactly in the Hall 15-A02/A18, in which visitors can admire the collections of participants in Craft The Leather 2019 and vote for their favourite one. So come visit the exhibition and choose your favourite collection!

Craft The Leather
A training project, upon invitation only, focusing on a group of 10 talented young designers from the most prestigious and innovative international fashion and design institutes. The aim is to to enhance the knowledge of Vegetable-Tanned Leather and enrich the technical know-how of designers and makers. Craft The Leather is composed of three phases. The first one foresees a workshop week in Tuscany, in which participants experience a full immersion in the life of the Tuscan Leather District, following the entire productive process with visits to tanneries and other facilities of the Tuscan cluster. The second one is a creative phase: back home at their school, they receive leathers, offered by associated tanneries, from the Consortium and have to develop and make a three-piece collection of personal accessories, using obviously Tuscan veg-tanned leather. In the third phase the designers’ collections are exhibited at Lineapelle for the final creative contest. The winner receive a scholarship sponsored by our Consortium.
