Professor Suhandan Özay Demirkan, is a textile, fashion and accessory design artist. She lectures at the Textile Department Head at the Dokuz Eylul University, Faculty of Fine Arts in Izmir, Turkey. Her research and publication field are fiber art, contemporary and Anatolian weaving, history of fashion and accessories (leather items, shoes, jewellery), shoes and jewellery design
She leads many workshops, seminars and symposiums about design trends, in jewellery, Anatolian weaving, textile art around the world.
