Third year assignment 2013, choose an ethnical shoe and create a replica, then design a collection of 4 pairs of shoes, for the Academy of Fine Arts in Sint-Niklaas Belgium (SASK).

Part of the collection ‘Woodhide Geometries’, laser cut bamboo on leather. I chose this theme because of my interest in architectural trends such as Art Deco and my love for the Scandinavian interior design. The flexible and thin leather under the wood creates a playful effect. By gradually fading the large pattern into a smaller pattern, the shape of the foot can be followed around the last.

These boots will be in production end of 2014.
